8 Speed Shimano Drivetrain
A Shimano RD-M310 rear derailleur and Shimano SL-M315 trigger shifter provide 8 speed control for adapting to changing routes and riding conditions. The 52T aluminum chainring works with an 11 to 32T cassette to give riders a useful gearing range for city streets and varied terrain. Tektro HD-M280 hydraulic disc brakes add controlled stopping performance, while 22 x 1.95 inch KENDA tires provide a broad contact area for confident handling.
Built for Larger Riders and Loads
The Mariner XL supports a maximum load of 330 pounds and accommodates riders from approximately 5 feet 1.8 inches to 6 feet 9.5 inches tall. A 620 mm aluminum handlebar provides added width, while the comfort saddle and 33.9 mm aluminum seatpost support adjustable riding positions. Aluminum front and rear hubs, a 32 hole wheel configuration, and an aluminum rear rack contribute to its practical everyday setup. DAHON also equips the bike with plastic fenders for added coverage during daily riding.
Compact 3 Step Folding
DAHON Folding System construction allows the Mariner XL to fold in three steps for easier storage and transport. When folded, it measures approximately 33.4 x 29.5 x 15 inches, making it easier to fit into apartments, storage areas, or vehicle cargo spaces. Foldable VP-F56 pedals further reduce its footprint. At 31.6 pounds, the Mariner XL balances expanded rider capacity with the portability expected from a folding bicycle.
