RED Digital Cinema RED PRO CFexpress v4 Type B USB4 Card Reader

Description

The RED Digital Cinema RED PRO CFexpress v4 Type B Card Reader gives production teams a direct way to move large media files from RED PRO v4 cards to a connected workstation. USB4 connectivity supports data reading up to 40 Gb/s, helping shorten media offload time after demanding camera shoots while keeping the workflow centered on RED PRO CFexpress v4 Type B media.

Faster Media Offloads

With a compatible USB4 connection, a 1 TB v4 card can offload in about 6 minutes and a 2 TB v4 card in about 11 minutes. For comparison, the same cards can take about 10 minutes and 20 minutes through USB 3.2. Actual performance can vary with temperature, connected port speed, and the write speed of the destination drive, so the full workflow remains dependent on the host system.

Built for RED PRO CFexpress v4 Type B Media

The reader supports RED PRO CFexpress v4 Type B 1 TB and 2 TB media and uses USB bus power, so no separate power adapter is needed during normal operation. Its compact body measures approximately 3.84 inches high, 2.56 inches wide, and 0.85 inch deep, with a weight of about 6.17 ounces for easy placement in a production case or edit station.

For RED media handling where transfer speed matters, this reader combines USB4 throughput, direct CFexpress Type B access, compact dimensions, and straightforward bus powered operation. A 3 year limited warranty is supported by Angelbird Technologies GmbH.
